French Club The French Club is a club organ- ized by the students of Western Maryland College who are inter- ested in the French language and aspects of the French culture French majors and non-majors are all welcome. This year, the club be- gan their year with the International picnic for all language students During Jan. term, seven members travelled to France and brought back slides for a presentation during a second semester club meeting. Also this year, the French Club sponsored a Coffee Hour in 127 Penna. Ave. for their members which was a great success! Spanish Club The Spanish Club had a fun and exciting year! The club started the year by attending the International picnic and continued with activities that gave them a taste of Spanish culture. Some of the activities were Spanish music night, restaurant visits in Baltimore, fund-raising in the Grille selling jewelry, and a good- bye dinner for Dr. Rivers who is leaving us for a position in New York. The culminating activity for the club was their ever-popular taco stand at the May Carnival. We wish Dr. Rivers much luck in her new position, but we'll miss her! 71
