Cheerleaders The 1977-78 cheerleading squads, football and bas- ketball, did well this year in getting our fans moving The squads showed us an array of new cheers, mounts and sideline yells, combined with the good old stand- ards. During football games, the cheerleaders forged through rain and hot spells even without our Green Terror helping them out. On the basketball courts, the girls showed us new cheers with different mounts while giving our team moral support Thanks girls for your spirit! We needed that! Pom-Poms Old and new faces greeted the fans during half-time at Western Maryland's football games this year. The Pom-Pom squad livened up the games with jazzy routines and a good show of agility. The ever popular snake routine still warmed the hearts of the au- dience while new routines added to the show. The girls performed at all of WMC's home games and of course at Homecoming. 70
