Karate Club Practicing bi-weekly, the Karate Club has been very active this year They practiced Tae Kwan Do, for Heung lu Hwang, Charlie Telfair, Sam, Dave Taylor. Rick Williams, Gretchen Frey the purposes of learning the basics, as well as new techniques, to be- come better in Karate and to keep in shape. Sounds of Silence The Sounds of Silence, a sign-song group from the Deaf Club, gave a rousing performance on May Day in Big Baker. Signing songs is a way of expressing feelings in the form of sign language. Besides signing the songs the girls acted out their songs and "danced to the music." They showed great skill in signing and everyone in the audience seemed to enjoy the hour-long performance. Sign on! 69
