there, sipping the bad tasting beer, since all the voices in her mind told her to
go. It was something she wanted, just for a little time. To be held, kissed,
fondled-yes, a very pleasant journey. He came back to her, from pissing or
something.

The kisses were warm, drunkenly arousing, tasted of beer and fermentation.
There was no real rush, a slow assension from a kiss to a touch. Oh, Erin
craved the caress. It felt so wonderful, she may have murmured "hold me."
She knew -understood in the clearest, most precise way-what this was
leading up to. Ha! She was no virgin, that did not bother her; she was on the
pill, it would not be so bad. She did not have to-she could stop right now,
walk away. But this sweet rushing torture, hm, no, she wanted this. How did
her clothes get off? Who cared? Where were her friends? Who cared? She
felt so numb she did not quite know what he was doing. She hated this-that
unfeeling, the numb blankness.

When in was over, she felt no regret. She walked quickly from the
bathroom, staring straight ahead, passed all the people on the dance floor. At
once, an arm took hers. She looked up into the face of Paul and began to cry.
"Take me home!" She babbled, barely coherent.

Gently he led her through the people, down the cold path to her dorm and
into the building. When she reached her room, it seemed to spin. Maggie
helped her with her clothes nad into the bed. Erin watched the room, listening
to Maggie and Paul talk outside her door, recapturing the talk Paul gave her
while she cried-serious talk, too serious for her to remember. The room was
stopping its annoying spinning. She had tried to explain to Maggie the
touching-sweet feeling! don't you understand?

She sat up and pulled herself into the bathroom. Her mind was very sober,
but she was not. The minute her head hit the pillow the second time-she
passed out. But the party went on.

Only two dollars at the door.
   All you can drink.
   People.
   Music.
   Cool.
