CATHARSIS
When madness leaps the barren quest of day,
And fingers grasp with empty strokes the clouds;
All nakedness is joking, sense the gilt,
Not granted to our neighbor, twice the fiend.
When envys sidelong stares play chill and question
While fever-flight sincere makes good the martyr;
Full nobly burn they both, though never meeting,
Condemned to gentle purge of fitful wonder.
When pride destroys iIlsjpid on its mountain,
No refuge from its own kind can be bought;
Contrite and scarred ielinquishee the weapon,
And mends with tears the carcass of the rabble.
When laughter is paroled" let gold chains fall
And free the flesh from legacies of toil;
The beast released, benign .and coarse it falters,
No primal laws qive cause to mold the mortal.

A 'LIGHTHOUSE EXTINGUISHED BY FOG
Like nails driven in His palms, depression crucified me,
Submerged in a sea of solitude, no place to flee.
As a bat in the day, I was lost in the dark.
Soul being impotent, I left leaving no mark.
Now dirt and decay have decomposed me.
To those I knew I am but a memory
Of a boy with a smile and quick witted mind.
Have they found happiness I never could find?
Dead before death, mind exploded,
Overrun by depresSion, gun was loaded.
The knell of the bells tolled me the way
To the deepnes,s I rest in today
Although depression did disperse, and the fear finally fled,
I've only loneliness in the company of the dead.
