INTRAMURAL SPORTS FOOTBALL For the third straight year Alpha Gamma Tau copped the Intramural Football Championship. The Bachelors showed a record of nine wins, one loss. In second place was Delta Pi Alpha with eight triumphs against a pair of setbacks. Hightlights of the Bachelor season were three games with the Preachers. In the opening con- test Alpha Gamma Tau scored a hard-fought 13-2 victory, but was turned back by a single point, 7-6, in the return game. This necessitated a play-off in which the Blue and White showed FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS-ALPHA GAMMA TAU its class and scored an impressive 19-0 triumph FRATERNITY over the Purple and Gold. 1st row: Grander, Goll, Lockhart, Dewey. 2nd row: Fog- ler, Jackson, Zimmerman, Manuel. BASKETBALL CHAMPIONS-ALPHA GAMMA TAU FRATERNITY 1st row: Manuel, Merkle, Antonas, Jackson. 2nd row: Rausch, Zimmerman, Tafuri, Coach Springstead. BASKETBALL Alpha Gamma Tau continued its domination of Intramural play by rolling up ten consecu- tive victories to annex the basketball champion- ship. Led by the left-handed shooting of Bob Jackson and protected by good all-around defen- sive teamwork, the Blue and White won both rounds of play, breaking the long reign held by Delta Pi Alpha. 89
