As classes resumed after the spring vacation, Coach Charlie Havens had more baseball candidates than he knew what 10 do with. The largest group in Terror baseball history tried out for the team. The pitchers end catchers had started 10 throw the ball in Gill Gymnasium during the winter months and were slightly ahead of the batters in the early stages of practice. Yale was scheduled to open the season here, but rain pre- vented the contest from being played. In the first game of the season, the Terrors traveled to Chestertown and defeated the perennially strong Washington College team 8 10 5 for the first Green victory over the Sharemen in baseball history. Then in rapid succession followed games with Gettysburg, Washington, Quantico Marines, Loyola, Baltimore, Mount St. Mary's, Johns Hopkins, and the highlight of the season-a two- day trip to Penn State. The season finale was with Mount SI. Mary's on Hoffa Field. Only graduating players on the teom ore shortstop Art O'Keeffe and outfielders Fern Hitchcock and Charlie Chlad. The hilling and fielding of these men contributed much to the success of the team. Sondy Nobel. Ernie Leop rrenl Rew-Adcmevich, Stephen,en Sec"nd Rew-Marge,ilo, Merriman, Leop, Nable. E. EllioH.
