"We fris~ away, Li~e schoolboys at th' expected warning, To joy and play." 'JOE" hails from near the wilds of Childs, Md., where he received his early' education, graduating from the Elkton High School in 1921. (Summer Come Lauder.) He then came to Western Maryland, as green as any freshman that ever "hit" the "Hill." We soon learned to like "Joe" and appreciate his dry humor. He was more to us as a classmate than outsiders could see. His participating in athletics and his grit made us think more of "Joe" and his very pleasant person- ality made him a very likeable comrade. "Joe's" long suit is dancing, and he certainly makes a hit with the ladies. An athlete, good dancer, sport, congenial, humorous, tactful, likeable, interesting; has a car, and knows where to "park"-what more could a girl want? Coaching appeals to our matinee idol pictured above and from what we know of "Joe," we feel assured that he will successfully attain his goal and will, no doubt, take the late Walter Camp's place in the football world.
