Mrs. Reinch

The couch was not the best place to sleep
especially in jeans. But nothing mattered
to her. Besides, I don't think she could keep
on her Own two feet to make it across the battered
Budweiser can mountains that coated the floor.
The television whispered its blue blur
into the room. She didn't hear a thing or
didn't care. In fact, I'm not even sure
           she's still alive. I don't check anymore.
It scares me because I don't want to be
the one to find her. So, I left the door
open for Joe and split. I'm sure that he
will deal with her some way or another.
Anyway, I never asked for her to be my mother.
