EMPTIED TOWERS

They talked on the phone for hours,
But nothing was said.
Although he still brings her flowers,
All feeling for her is dead.
The house still stands, two towers
Emptied of those who were wed
Within its walls. The showers
Fall outside, but love has fled
Far away from these ivied walls:
The man home to his mother,
Who, dying slowly, still falls;
She leaves him for another. '

dant, surviving woman. Dirty sheets yet no "dirty laundry. Still as virginal as, she used. to

be, but not so naive. Dead ideals> No longer believing. It'll happen to' you-bullshit.

Seek and ye shall pine. Inexistent inter-dependance fades to the conception of the

self. Young with enthusiastic yearning becomes aged. with decrepit disbelief. Dead'

believer with clipped wings try to get off the .ground, but always falls with a mournful
