KINDLING ILLUMINATION
I sink into the chair
in which we passed the hours by
and sink into deep thoughts of you.
Time stood mesmerized -
We were in our own quiet vacuum
There were no outsiders
And as the hours went by
We became more and more alone
in the depths of the silent night.
Ours was an atmosphere
of dusky lights and musky scents
from candles
Whose flames flickered
like the hopes in our hearts.
The dancing light would side step
to reveal objects hidden
in the shadowy corners of the room.
So too , did we allow our conversations
.
to reveal glances of our dreams
that we kept covetously hidden
in the corners of our hearts.
