Before the bell, the morning announcements come on, and this morning
there is only one. They announce that Senator Kennedy has been shot and
killed in California after winning the primary.

The bell rings and as you walk past her she clears her throat ominously
and Sid begins crying. You can't blame her, that bitch had been on Sid's ass all
period long. So as you walk out of the room in a hurry not to be late to physics,
you try to comfort Sid a little and try to cheer her up by telling her not to
worry, what does that old bitch know, etc. But Sid just shakes her tearing head
and stares blankly ahead saying why? why? And now looking at you out of sad
pleading eyes adding slowly, he was our only hope.

And that was a slap in the face.
