I'm drawn back east of Gordon
And my mind clutches passing pinwheels
Of what almost was
But that cou Id never be,
For though it's only twenty miles
There's mountains in between
And rivers, making passage
Fifty miles or more.
But here I flew and here I must remain:
Returning, flying eastward
Only when my psyche fears so much
That mentaldrenalin starts flowing
And breaks the bonds of intellect
Which held me here before.
And while it flies
I catch a glimpse
Fleeting in the trails,
Of what it really was
To live so: in a cave:
Just twenty east of Gordon.
But the waking from
Auto-mesmerism
Is violent and shatters
All my pictures
And I am left to sort the pieces
And cut my fingers on jagged edges.
But I kiss them clean,
There'll be no scar
For only light can ever breed a scar.
And as I sit in darkness
Painting scenes that no one else can see
In a cave, much like the one I left
Just twenty past the sunrise,
I prepare to go west one more mile
Andso goodbye forever to this Gordon,
For after california there is ocean ..
