Kappa i\t\u EpsiIon Western Maryland College can boast the pres- ence of the Maryland Beta chapter of Kappa Mu Epsilon, the national mathematics honor society This organization has as its object the furtherance of the interests of mathematics as well as the recognition of achievements in that field Kappa Mu Epsilon sponsors lectures on subjects in mathematics as well as a booth at the Spring Carnival. Delta Omicron Western Maryland's Omicron Eta chapter of Delta Omicron was formed in 1957 to recognize achievement in the study of music In 1977-78 this organization was faced with the loss of its status as a recognized campus organization due to the adoption of the Title IX standards. Delta Omicron still main- tains an active program of concerts for both the public and guests. 57
