kathll walter erI think the women '8 athletic program is definitely handled well; it's great that the pro- gram offers so much to so few, and it's great for a small college. The program is well or- ganized and much beuer than I expected. But there are things it lacks: there's a need for more coaches; better equipment; more diversi- fied courses that aren't geared solely towards men; and more method courses. ,eI prefer playing far more than I think I do coaching. I know when I'm on the bench, sometimes I get so mad that I want to jump in the game. I really like the physical involve- ment aspect of sports. Coaching is a tougher job - it's hard to get the players to do what you want them to." OC I have definuelv matured through sports, especially the team sports. I've become more knowledgabLe in group situa- tions through sports - acquiring the ability to think together tn a group. "There were various win-loss records, failures and victories in each sport; there were winning seasons, losing seasons, and within the same sport, win-Loss seasons - no matter where you look I found myself learning in every instance. It's great because it gives you a total picture to learn from. " "Some people are too quick to judge a coach - no where are you going to find a perfect coach. People at WMC are too fast to judge them on their iniual [aulu or small faults along the way. Every coach has faults and you're going to learn from them as well. as from their good points. " "Many athletes tend to put down things that aren't good enough, that they think should be perfect. They should look at themselves and the program, and try to make do with the things they have.
