lost
broken
detached
from life
overcome
by the
storm.
The obituary, speechless,
couldn't say- The very reason
trembling hands sifted papers,
bills, and photographs- all for
some ethereal grasp at her just
her.
Wading through forgotten trash I
searched and search for Wendy
the college student who drank
too much and lost her little
brother at some party when he
visited her that one time. The
little girl who locked her mother
out of their house in California
because as a kid
she looked for trouble
as much as it looked for
her Wendy the intern
the cook the love of
someone's life their first
date.
Her diary.
A letter to me.
Anything.
A memorial service wIll be held at 3o.m, Tuesday, Nov. '0, at the Prince of Peace
Episcopal Church.
The things once
sought were never found. The
books were

just a box-
shut tight.
