AN OBITUARY FOR A WOMAN I NEVER KNEW

BY TYLER VAN DYKE

An old, yellowed
obituary found in
the basement in
no particular
box-just a box-
alone. The
obituary of an
unknown woman.

The picture speaks,
whispers the worn,
exhausted story of
a woman middle
aged hair just
starting to grow
back but coarse
and brown this
time in tight curls
once loose and
golden

ASPERS Wendy Elizabeth (Durbin) -----------, 4J, died Wednesday morning,
November 4, 2009, at her home.

A life removed forced out evicted
despite a new treatment with
promise- but that meant a bill she
couldn't pay but could have saved
her life- and fattened the pockets of
a well-respected businessman-oh
well- A richer man will almost die
but place the pennies on his eyes and
cross the River Styx and live in the
grey on grey of crumbling cities-
Asphodel incarnate.

Wendy is survived by her three children, Enka,-----, and Ryan, all at home.

Those children-
