Gypsy of the UnaHainable
(for Scott because loving you is like war)
"More than herself it was not herself at all,
but someone else that she really was."
-Tanith Lee
this is what it is to be electric.
sprung from an agonized
coil to twirl--madcap, full of the wind; missing
the sound of my name thrumming your voice, arms pierced
by your absence, shreds
of my laughter left hanging
like interrupted conversation--waltzing
with thunder and wantonly yearning
for a lightning kissto burn
away the ways l'rn forced
to remember you.
you are so deeply woven within my words
(divorced from tone, all bright elation stolen into vowels)
i have no other language to speak
but i am too full to stop singing,
alive with our jagged impossibility.
i have lips and hips
and i will not be your revolutionary
wearing nothing but the scars your tongue left on my thighs.
