IAN
A little boy named lan, not older than three.
It was through his mind and words that I could see
more clearly.
His imagination was endless
My time for listening endless.
He helped me to slow down,
to look at things and to join him in his mental travels.
One day we went to a cow farm.
The next day to McDonalds to eat some fries.
Now as I sit at my desk studying the words
of past greats,
I wonder what Ian is thinking about.
He surely isn't contemplating life as Hamlet did.
He is on another adventure
Maybe to a place that doesn't exist to us but is real
to him.
Thank you lan, maybe someday we'll meet again
in our mental travels.
