I fixed the bathtub again and studied hard today
smoked seven cigarettes and nothing else.
I sleep alot,
seldom go to bed hungry.
Last night before I got in bed I looked at the sky,
at the endless space;
a star fell and faded,
leaving nothing
where there had been life and warmth.
I was colder than usual last night;
my room bigger, darker ...
Most days I go to school alone.
I'm around people I can't be near.
We talk some,
staring across gaps.
The gaps scare me;
I look for you on the side of them
and find only me ...
I READ ONE NIGHT THAT MOST METEORS
CAUGHT BY THE EARTH'S GRAVITY
BURN UP COMPLETELY BEFORE HITTING THE GROUND.
Each night I walk home alone.
The night has its own noises
different from the day.
Dogs that bark in the sun
howl at the moon.
At night I can't see the noises like in daylight,
I can only hear them and wonder.
One night I was almost hit by a truck.
I ran, got away,
was shaking and scared when I got home.
I looked for you in my empty room;
my cat yawned and stretched.
Sometimes t talk to him,
heleoks and listens,
