A five-match winning streak to close out the year propelled the WMC women's tennis team to its first .500- plus season in 10 years" The five straight victories pushed WMC to a 6- 5 overall record, the team's first win- ning season since the 1983 squad went 5-4. Freshmen were the key to the improvement, led by Jessica Women's Tennis A First In Ten Leiner, Carrie Frith and Arnie Chilcoat. Leiner was second in singles wins with a 6-5 mark, and she led the team in doubles victories with her 8-3 mark. Six of Leiner's doubles wins came while she was paired with Chilcoat, whose overall doubles record was a sparkling 7-1.
