A string of four straight wins to start the season propelled the WMC women's swimming team to its first winning record in 10 years. The Green Terrors then used a victory over Washington College in their final meet to finish 7-6 • Fresh- man Karen Alexander made her presence felt in many special ways. She became WMC's first female champion at the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) championship since 1986 when she won the 200-yard backstroke. The first-year Green Terror, who broke five school records during the year, also placed second in ............................. the 200 and 400 individual medleys as WMC Swimming Splashing Ahead finished sixth out of 16 squads= In addition, Alexander became the school's first qualifier for the NCAA Division III championship in 10 years. She placed 12th in the 400 individual medley at the national meet at Emory University in Atlanta, Ga. The WMC men ended the dual- meet season with a 4-9 record, and wound up in a tie for 11th place out of 15 teams at the MAC meet.
