The Western Maryland College women's basketball team entered the 1992-93 season wearing the face of youth and inexperience, with no seniors and just two juniors among the 13-player roster. Conse- quently, the Green Terrors' 9-15 final record, indi- cates that progress was made throughout the cam- paign • Junior guard and co-captain Sue Head led the team in scoring with an average of 12.6 points per game and brought down a second-best average of 6.7 rebounds. She was selected to the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC)-Southwest Section AU- Star team. One of the Green Terrors who pro- gressed the most during the season was sopho- more Krista Shaffer. She was second on the team ............................ ............................ Basketball Women's Young Team Progresses in scoring with an11.9 average and the highest free-throw percentage at 73.3 percent. WMC bal- anced rebounding attack was led by sophomore Denise Spangler. The forward hauled in 8.3 re- bounds per contest and was third on the team in scoring with 9.2 points per game. The other major inside players were sophomore Andrea Romich and junior Marie Pawlowski. Romich was third on the squad in rebounding at 6.3 per game and fourth in scoring at 7.6. Pawlowski, a center and co-captain, brought down an average of 5.9 boards per game and recorded a 6.4 point scoring average. Sopho- more guard Christa Mose was the team leader in steals, taking away 50 on the season. Mose also was second on the squad in assists.
