When three disabled players are all starters, having a successful season becomes difficult. Such was the case with the WMC 1992-93 men's basketball team, as it concluded the season with a 5-19 overall record " The injuries to the starters, re- sulting in 42 missed games, undoubtedly had an impact. Senior co-captain Scott Lyon saw action in just 12 of the 24 games, hampered initially by a hand injury and later a sprained ankle. He finished third on the team in scoring with a 12.6 points-per-game average, in assists with 54 and steals with 22. Lyon concluded his career with 353 assists, second on the WMC all-time list. Center Paul Pawlowski played in only the first ............................. nine contests due to a knee injury sustained early in the Men's Basketball Too Many Injuries 1991-92 season, and sophomore forward Tony Jenkins suffered a knee injury in early December and was forced out of the line-up until the final two weeks of the season e Junior co-captain and forward Rolando Welch responded with one of the most productive seasons ever by a WMC player. He led in scoring and rebounding with averages of 19.4 paints and 13.3 rebounds. Welch topped the squad with 43 blocked shots and 44 steals.e His total of 320 rebounds was the second-highest single-season total in WMC history, and his 466 points was the third-best. • Welch was selected to the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC)-Southwest Section All-Star team and the National Association of Basketball Coaches Division 111All-Middle Atlantic District second team.
