The 1992 season was one of improvement for the men's and women's cross country teams. Both units fielded complete squads for all of their events, and both moved up the ladder at the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) championships. WMC's men finished the regular season with a 4-9 dual-meet record, along with participating in four invitationals. The Green Terrors' best showing in the invitationals was a 12th place finish out of 24 teams in the highly-competitive Dickinson Invitational. At the MAC meet, WMC placed 14th out of 23 teams, up two spots from its 1991 finish. Derek Johnston was the top performer for the men, as he was the team's first finisher in each of the eight events in which he ran. In addition, Cross Country Running Strides he was the overall winner at the Howard Express Invitational and a quadrangular meet at Elizabethtown. Johnston crossed the finish line at the MAC race in 20th place and in 29th at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional. On the women's side, WMC posted a 6-5 dual-meet mark and also ran in four invitationals. The Green Terrors were third at the Montgomery-Rockville and Howard Express meets, and wound up 13th out of 25 teams at the Dickinson gathering. Similar to the men, WMC's women advanced two spots at the MAC championship from 16th last year to 14th in 1992. Kendra Weible put together another excellent season as the top Green Terror. She was the team's leading runner in all seven events she ran. Weible finished ninth at the MAC meet, her second straight season in the top 10, and 10th at the Division III Mideast Regional, to eam AII- Region Team honors.
