SPORTS EXCITEMENT It was a battle of unbeatens as the Green Terrors thwarted the efforts of Muhlenberg 14·6 before a delighted Homecoming crowd. The victory avenged last year's loss at the hands of the Mules which kept the Terrors out of the playoffs. As Coach Hindman put it, "victory is sweet." Sweet it was, as the Terrors defeated Muhlenberg for the first time since 1932, dealing the Mules their first loss of the season. Other sports events of the Homecoming weekend included an excellent perfor mance by the volleyball team in the Towson Tourney. The spikers defeated Navy, UMBC, and Loyola, and split with Catonsville in the seeding rounds. In the finals, they put Loyola behind them only to have their superb day of playing end with a loss to Catholic University, giving them a second place finish over-all. Adding to the excitement, the soccer team defeated Susquehanna by a 2·1 overtime margin. Although the men's cross country team was defeated by Susquehanna, all memo bers ran personal best times and captain John Kebler set a new school record with a time of 28:44 on the 8000 meter course.
