DELTA PI ALPHA "The Preachers" Under the leadership of ringmasters "Pops" Markey and J. C. Allen, the Delta Pi Alpha Circus enjoyed another fine season. Most of the old acts returned headed by such veteran performers as John Mosca and h is electric nose, Mr. Z. and trained chim- panzees, and Bill Griffith and his snakes. Tawes' hair-growing act was a failure, (as was his love life) but Bad News Barnes showed you can really go places if you sleep all the time (how's Pikesville, News?). Leon Cronce was the most sought-after personage, be- cause he was operator of the Hot Dog Stand. Tuch, our public relations expert, did his usual. One of the best new acts under the big-top was Biwana Skiles and African Safari. The side show flourished with Fox and Lindsay as the skinny turkeys. There was Eypeels Von Johnstone and his thirty-foot moustache. Ron Cristy developed into one of the best fast-talk artists and joke-tellers in the business, and Freddy Kiemle finally realized his potential as the fat man. Unfortunately John Seaman was a disappointment after some- one stole his stilts, but muscle-man Tom Van Sickle picked-up the slack. On March 4, we added nineteen members to our talented crew. Billy Bowers and Joe Zick are battling it out for resident clown, and Bobby Watson pulls trains with his teeth. We were most fortunate in rounding-up the amazing Mr. Derb, the world-renowned C- fe+ser. These fine young lads shou'd carryon in the best of Preacher tradition, and the results will be the same in the Delta Pi Alpha Circus for years to come. 137
