ALPHA GAMMA TAU "The Bachelors" As second semester brought another AGT pledge class, the brothers once again drank to the Bachelors remaining the best at WMC. The lev of replacing a parting unbelievable class with the comparable remaining underclassmen led many of the blue and white Pit-dwellers to reminisce about the happenings of the past year: Football season with the majority of players on Ron Jones' squad singing the Bachelor song at post game parties; Max, Myers, and Cline rolling bottles and them- selves down Bachelor Hill; the regular season games for Captains Diggs, Whale- man, H. Doody, Buck, and Fabulous Tom compared to the nighttime, in-room scrim- mages of Captains Bozie, Pollock, Gaper, Laurence, and Frank; the first semester Executive Council featuring a Mono-plagued flying elephant as Alpha and a porno- graphic Gamma; the exile of the golden-tongued diplomat Pizzaman; Kennel Ration rejecting Myers' dates; Chuck Miller as the merciless heartbreaker; Wrestling and Basketball teams with Bachelor captains; a skinny wrestler with a record for consecu- tive wins on the mat and in his room; a new blue clubroom rug for Oriental love-ins; the ROTC volunteer Rangers and Forward Observers; Fabulous Tom losing Pollock to a well-endowed Minnie Mouse; an intramural football team with a platoon of SOre- armed quarterbacks; Butch launching the nude-back-campus-running craze; while Little Jimmy did his own version in the clubroom; marathon pinochle championships; slum living conditions complete with a Rag and a Rat; the Scholarship chairman flunking out; another raft of pinnings and engagements. Max's collegiate record for the most alcohol consumed in a four-year span; the paddle wheel deflating; the reincarnation of The Lover's Nuts; an intermural basket- ball team taller than the varsity; another fraternity cup; Eddie leading the seniors' waistline expansion; parties ranging from grain, cheese, and bread to beer and crabs; open houses with the weekly fourth floor party; Dale's mysterious overnight room- mate; George, the most affectionate orenoe and black female to curl up on every bed in the section; Buck and Buck-Buck; the Egg and the Omlette; Crazy Jack as the campus gigolo; and much more information supplied by Monk Kintzing, the Rumor Man. The year passed in typical Bachelor tradition. The lively parties and strong brother- hood complemented AGT's contributions to the Hill and left lastinq memories for all the members. 134
