Sigma Sigma Tau The sisters of Sigma Sigma Tau began their year with a "1001 Arabian Nights" rush party featuring two nearly authentic, and nearly coordinated Pi Alpha Alpha belly dancers. Hell Week was a big yolk, sufficiently initiat- ing our twenty-three new pledges to the red and gray, exposing them to the more rigorous side of sisterhood. In spite of the hardships of Hell Week, the new skunks survived to sponsor a Christmas party for mentally hand- icapped children. Teaming with the Black and Whites, we also gave a Christmas party for some of the under- privileged children of Westminster. Later, Sigmas and Black and Whites mixed in their traditional Christmas party. Other Christmas festivities included a party in the Sigma clubroom given by our Baltimore alumni chapter. Sigmas really do C.A.R.E. Our annual service project netted us a sizable sum to donate to help others help themselves. Also, Working together, the Sigmas and the Black and Whites adopted a little Austrian boy, whom we plan to support as a long-range project. Members of both groups write to him often. Meanwhile, back at the Ranch, the Sigmas installed their newly elected officers for the spring term, which brought with it a revival of the Friday evening spaghetti dinners, prepared by some of our better chefs. The Sigmas abandoned the ski slopes this year (but not the snow), for a Mardi Gras at the Riding Club. Sigmas treated the girls' dorms to their annual dorm dinner. Sigma Sig- ma Tau closed its busy year with the Luau rush party. SECRETARY: Lisa Renshaw VICE-PRESIDENT: Janet Schroeder TREASURER: Linda Newton PRESIDENT: Peggy Venzke 149
