It's Nice We're Having Weather If there's one particular thing Western Maryland College is noted for, it's the beautiful weather. The snows set in early up here on the Hill, and we are blessed with this beautiful, brisk, stimulating, white- ness until the middle of March. Credit is now being given for skiing-a sport in which every WMC·ER is already adept. We have a very efficient snow re- moval program, however, which makes traveling about on campus pleasurable and safe. As soon as the first flake is sighted, the removal team is on the job, moving in the heavy equipment-two elderly gentlemen with brooms. In the spirit of fun, the last walk to be cleared is that from the girls' dorms to Memorial Hall. The girls and the house directors get their daily exercise by bodily pulling themselves up the hill, from tree to tree. The Monsoons begin along about Ground Hog's Day and last until May first. But for some reason, when spring does finally arrive, the snows, icy winds and dreary rains are forgotten. Sun-bathers spring up with the flowers, tennis games last til dark and the golf course is actually covered with golfers. And ex- cept for the dark cloud of comprehensives and finals hanging over, Western Maryland takes on the air of a country club . • • ,. .
