Slpe, BASKETBALL Forming the nucleus for this year's Western Maryland quintet was a group of untested sophomores and juniors. The lettermen {ro~ll last year's squad were Arnie Needleman, B1II Pfeifer, Charley White, Harry Tull and Al Bopst. Coach Ferauson with these boys, and newcomers Charle~ Pl~ipps, Soup Campbell, George Sipe, Bob Jackson, and Jim Whitehurst, was ready to tackle a tough, but interesting, schedule. The opening game found the \V.M.e. quintet pitted against a strong accurate-shooting Navy team which remained ahead throughout the game. With the NlW}' game and an exhihition game with Gcuysburg behind them, the Terr or .· s gained a victory in their game with Cathobc University, 77-54. Dunne this game Al Bopst scored 32 points, the seas~n's highest irHlividual mark.
