There is something in May that means sun- shin and patches of shade Made for enjoyment. It calls out the pastels of the sky and the grass A nd filmy dresses. Beauty itself among beauiilul thlngs There is warmth that means leisure And yet musters untried energy There is a promise in spring For meeting the days. That makes iivi(lg take on ne'/./}beauty; There is a languor that suggests lavender and That brings dewy freshness to hopes dried lace, By the winds of the winter. And an airiness summonsing linens and In the gardens, tlie roses hang heavily cottons On stems that were ghosts, To dance on the lawns. And the fragrance of flowers fill the air With an incense to beauty. There is something in a May Court There is a glorious bloom That brings all spring together On new things that live and breathe In a pageant 0/ joy and gaiety Whit new vigor. Poised in grace against a floral setting Dreams are /nlfilled. In harmony 1IJithall loveliness,
