So now you're stuck with bills to pay,
Too many gifts on lay-away.
You're dreading life from day to day
As tax time threatens cold and grey.
Thus ends my poem, droll and wry,
I told the truth, I didn't lie
Christmas celebration's nigh,
Perhaps we'd best remember why.
