NORA ROBERTS AMERICAN ROMANCE COLLECTION

Romance Titles 857 Special Collections partnered with the Art Department to integrate romance
Gothic Romance 911 novels from the Nora Roberts American Romance Collection into the studio
1,768 art courses for Spring 2017. Students reflected on the concept of “happily ever
Total Titles 1,454 after,” analyzed cover art design, and used extra books as raw materials for
Annual Circulation their collage and printmaking projects.

Andrea Briggs, Archivist & Special Collections Librarian, was also invited
to give a guest lecture for the Design I course on the elements of popular
romance novel cover design.

The final projects from the participating classes were displayed in Romance
Remixed: A Multimedia Art Exhibition, which provided student artists the
opportunity to discuss their work with their peers and the public.
