A suit with eyelid buttons pried open flickers on a clothesline,
Toes fall from your nostrils, and your fingers fall like teeth.
We stand under the umbrella of a misaligned sky's horizon,
An eyelid half closed, an awning half erected,
I walk across raised plains of faces, staring,
Floating like clouds of death caps in a pond,
Three wild and kaleidoscopic eyes tumbling down that hill,
I wipe the webs from my withered eye,
Silver as shriveled sunbeams.
I open my eye and here we are,
Shadows spinning on a loom,
Standing in the dark,
Black as holes within a memory.
I open the door to an ear
And view my many faces,
Do we want to burn to death, or jump from the car and obliterate in a
shower of sparks?
At the bottom of a forty-foot cliff there is wretched steel and twisted
hubcaps,
Windshield wiper pins sewn through my voodoo head,
And it begs the question, did he fall or was he pushed?
A ghost in the mist, the great vehicle
I release my mind,
I breathe out restless thoughts,
As the void envelopes this vessel,
I desensitize and relax,
Until I am nothing more than a fly frizzling on a light bulb,
A nameless alien mass,
Writhing in the belly of an elephantine worm,
A two solution coin gyrating through the slots,
And all the time, the transformer's hum is growing louder,
I try to drown it with the warmth of the radiator,
But on the fields outside the birds continue to line up on the steel
cables,
Serenading me with its high tension electrical ambience,
I burrow within the threshold of the time capsule, capable of transport
ing myself to non-existent worlds
Traversing at speeds capable of blurring the line between illusion and
contrast I 69
