CONTRAST 1989

Ifjust once,
I could listen with my heart,
open my eyes, instead of my mouth
and see the real you,
I might even see the real me.

The two people
I know the best,
I know the least.
Each indiViduality
Piled high on the dusty shelves
in oUr minds.

Taken out
for only others to see
But not for myself
and not for you.

Somewhere locked in the cobwebs
of Ourselves
lies the real me
and the real you
- those we will never know.
