ALONE
Tonight [ walked on the beach alone.
The first time,
for a long time,
without you.
[ never felt so lonely.
In the dark,
on the beach,
without you.
in front of me or
in back of me
walking beside me,
Your voice reassuring me
of my existence.
Alone, [ faded into nothing,
one with the water,
the sand, the stars,
without you.
[ never felt so empty.
[n the dark
on the edge of eternity
without you
to listen to
to look at
to laugh with,
Your voice comforting me
in the black nothingness.
Alone, [ felt my heart reach out
to the place you love most.
Your soul found mine
and made us one.
[ felt my loneliness for you spill over,
my tears fell silently
into eternity. . .
slipping away into time,
unseen by you,
And [ never felt so alone.
