And I love to make them with my tongue and lips.
It is good to say sparkle and see the sun on water,
And good to say whisper and hear the wind.
The poet was a lovely tender thing-
And I can love him too, for he, like God, is eternal;
And though he was of ancient birth
He held the heart of life,
And struck the very rhythm of its pounding
So intensely in his verse
That he can live again within the joy
Of every reader, and rejoice
In life anew.
And if I love the artist, the musician, and the poet-
1£ I can so love these for their creating,
So much more deeply must I love
