KATHLEEN A. BRUSCA Western Maryland College is a beautiful place to spend four years. There is nothing quite like the sun setting over back campus or the gazebo buried in snow. But Western Maryland's real strength is its people - OUT professor's who help us grow academi- cally and emotionally; and OUf friends, who become our second family. RIXEY LEBHERZ I'm so glad that I have the opportunity to express my feelings about Western Maryland College several months since I have graduated. Although it's a cli- che, you really do appreciate things much more in retrospect. I've been able to realize in the past few months just how important Western Maryland is to me. Western Maryland isn't the school or the cam- pus, but it is the people, faculty and students alike. Thinking about my friendships brings to mind a simple little poem by Louis Hill: When old friends get together, there's something in their smiles that has a way of reaching out across the years and miles - a special kind of magic that binds them heart-to-heart and as they talk it's hard to tell they've ever been apart. Regardless of the time, the place, the season or the weather, the feeling's always extra warm when old friends get together. 20
