SOFTBALL .500 Season Last year Missy Mules was just a .SOOpitcher. Her record. 3-3, was reflected in the team's final record of 4-4. The keys to improvement this year came in two one run games against Southern Pennsylvania rivals. The first was a 3-2 win in eight innings over MAC rival Gettysburg College. The second was a 9-8 win over York. The Western Maryland offense was doing its job, too. The only Sen- ior on the team, Jayne Kernan, paced the team with a .400 batting average, led the team in homeruns with three, hits with 14, and RBI's with 16. Lead-off batter Patsy Moyles did just what the first batter issupposed to do- get on base and score. She .l batted .387, had 12hits and led the team with 17 runs scored and 10 walks. First baseman Janice McClurg batted ,366, Catcher Kim Drexel hit .346 and drove in seven runs while doing an excellent defensive job behind the plate. Right fielder Donna Cox drove in eight runs and hit .366. Center field- er Renee Nacrelli batted .250. and Freshman Lisa Lohr played left and also hit ,250, Defensively, Western Maryland showed great improvement-overall the team fielded a healthy .924.
