:FOR WMC'S TENNIS TEAMS Finishing with an overall 5·5 team reo cord, the women's tennis team compted under a new MAC format this season. In previous years, there were seven match- es, and a woman could only compete once per contest. That meant nine worn- en competed regularly. Now, however, there are nine matches, but the women played all night matches. Despite its faults, Weyers was pleased by the new system. "1 thought this type of system really improved our skills," she said. "I like it. It's the only way to go." Dramtically improving her record this season was Debbie Taylor, who was 11· 11 overall playing against the best play· ers in the Middle Atlantic Conference. Taylor's 5·5 record in singles was paral- leled by her teammates. When Taylor won against Washington. Gallaudet. Hood. Dlckinson, and York. so did the team.
