I cI>AY Phi Lambda Upsilon is an hon- orary chemical society founded in 1899 at the University of Il- linois. The aims and purposes of the society from its inception were "The promotion of high scholarship and original in- vestigation in all branches of pure and applied chemistry." Membership is limited to junior and senior students with a major in chemistry including at least 20 hours of chemistry, an overall in- dex of 3.00 for seniors and 3.20 for juniors. Pat Holt, Pam Hudson. O~K Omicron Delta Kappa is a National Leadership Honor Society. The Western Mary- land Circle was installed in 1963. Membership in this circle is one of the highest honors attainable for a stu- dent. However, the purpose of the group is not only to honor leadership, but also to encour- age the exercise of it on the college campus. Members of this circle are students of at least junior standing who have demonstrated leadership abili- ty in various phases of campus life and who stand in the up- per thirty-five percent of their class.
