The Misanthrope Mr. Jerry Solomon's production of The Misanthrope captures the hypocrisy and the painted facade of human beings. Rick McCall as the Misanthrope, Alceste, was plagued by a society of promiscuous ladies, gossips and court fops. Celemene, played by Margit Horn, epitomized the tinsel society that Alceste tried in vain to change. Philinte, played by Bob Whitney, Sue Seibert as Arsinoe and Ivan Lawson as Oronte only contributed to the futility of Alceste's efforts to bring some semblance of sincerity into the false society. Keith Thacker as Clintandre and Glenn Hopkins playing Acaste brought a comic relief with their foppish and worldly manners, sealing the final hope of the distraught Alceste for a new and honest human race.
