ALOHA Running up a phenomenal electric bill is really only a minor achievement of this year's somnambulistic year- book staff. Senior co-eds on the staff pocket dorm keys and prepare for a harrowing night in the Art House, new home of the student publications offices. Our physical education major photo editor, Sarah Lednum, practiced sprinting by tracking down one of her choice camermen for immediate employ, Tom Van Sickle's dislocated shoulder deemed him out-of-commission second semester, so short-handedly we grappled with impending deadlines. Overwhelming response to Editor-in-Chief Fred Wagner's plea for help seemed encouraging, but proved to be short- lived. Sleeping and studying suffered as a few Trojans slaved over crude copy and ludicrous layouts. Fred some- how miraculously propelled himself to Carroll Hall even on deadline mornings; Anne Read's "I'm at the ALOHA" sign appeared firmly cemented to her door. Upon completion of the 1969 ALOHA, sample year- books clutter well-used layout tables and piles of unused copy mounting on floor, chair and cabinet warrant investi- gation by the fire department. Perhaps with some fore- sight, next year's editor-in-chief will select a clean-up editor. 114
