The old Bu Under first semester editor, Don Elmes, and second semester editor, Jerry Hopple, the Gold Bug continued to inform, to amuse, or to irritate its readers. Its bold "new" look, coupled with its satirical sketches and thought-pro- voking columns, made the campus newspaper almost mandatory reading for anyone who wanted an inside line on college attitudes and activities. While retaining such Gold Bug "institutions" as Dean Zepp's column and edi- torials, the new editors splashed their pages with original and controversial drawings by Ellen Von Dehsen and photographs both amusing and informative.
