Mr. John Akar John Akar, African nationalist, playwright and actor and director of the Sierra leone Broadcasting Service, spoke in Alumni Hall on September 28, 1966. Mr. Akar's lecture was entitled "America Through an African's Eyes." The speaker praised what he termed "the great American ex- periment" but lamented the ract that our original goals had been supplanted by those of wealth and power. While slating that he was on the side of Democracy, Mr. Akar also presented the weaknesses that the African sees in the United States. The speaker urged students to behave "in a spirit of brotherhood."
