Each year when basketball season rolls around. the team and its fans are filled with high hopes of an exciting and a winning season. The season started as hoped for with the hoopsters dominating Wash· ington College to the tune of 107·84. The Terrors then climbed to a 4·3 mark before the Christmas vacation. During the holidays the team traveled to New Bedford, Mass. and won the Seafood Tourna- ment. After the holidays the team hit a slump and managed to win only 3 of the last 14 games to wind up the season with a 7·14 record. Al- though not a winning season it was an exciting one. Who can forget the triple overtime game with Towson which ended with coach Clew- er's exciting play with 2 seconds left in the game;or the come from behind victory over Franklin and Marshall. The team was led by the scoring and playmaking of captain Gary Fass who received most valuable player awards at the Seafood Tournament and the Civic Center doubleheader against RU. He was also selected as honorable-mention on the all Mason-Dixon team. Another scoring leader was Larry Suder who found his shooting eye during the second half of the season. The leading rebounder was Mike Kroe who was aided by Joe Smothers and Greg Getty. 55
