"Anyone can learn to dance," faculty director Byron Avery informed a dubious cast at an early rehearsal, and for the next several weeks taught an incredulous chorus the con- tortions necessary to modern choreography. "Barb, we need a picture of Hitler," Nelson decided, as he planned the interlude of slides illustrating college life. "Dottie, we need fifteen more verses for Bill's song. And will someone please teach Kay to dance like a boy?" 57
