I don't know what effect these men will have on the enemy, but, by God, they frighten me! Duke of Wellington How many hours' worth of gigs have been worked off by the simple expedient of get- ting "Ski" a cup of coffee or a pack of cigarettes? How many times has the weap- ons board been signed (with or without cleaning the weapon) ? Freshmen will remember trying to put all the parts back together again, flag de- tail, the Colonel's immense pipe, and the nervous anticipation of the first drill. Sophomores recall that bitter-cold map problem and how they got lost three times, Juniors could never forget what seemed like fifteen classes a week, the officers who filled the man-sized shoes of "The WorId's Greatest Machine-Gunner," and over-sized fatigues. Seniors remember the mock court martial and the grind of summer camp; the attitude checks and the relief of being done with it. As for the young ladies and the non- participants, they will just remember the boys in green every Tuesday, and maybe the Military Ball. But we all remember that ROTC was here. 131
