GAITHER LEE FISCHBACH, JR. Lee Fischbach, Jr. was a pre-ministerial stu- dent during his freshman year and was active in the S.C.A. A soft-spoken sincerity and friend- liness were his trademarks. After his tragic death on January 1, 1956,the Class of 1959was inspired to establish, in his memory, The Gaither Lee Fischbach, Jr. Memorial Scholarship. MRS. NINA VENABLES VEALE As housemother of Blanche Ward Hall for sixteen years, Mrs. Nina Venables Veale was known and loved by her hundreds of daugh- ters. Books, boys, and bridge made up a larger circle of her activities. She was a member of the Class of 1908 and was present for her fiftieth class reunion. Her death came suddenly on October 4, 1958. RALPH MARTINEZ LOPEZ Words of leadership were spoken by Ralph Lopez during his freshmen year in his S.G.A. position as class representative and as a radio announcer for WTTR. As a political science major he was preparing to study law. Both en- thusiasm and ambition complemented all that he did. He passed away on May 10, 1958. lfn :memoriam 77
